Keeping it in the Family
A family-owned business, which says it prides itself on producing home-grown talent and promoting from within has done just that at two of its local dealerships
Both Stafford Audi, on Hurricane way, and Stoke Audi, next door to Stoke City’s Britannia Stadium are part of family-owned and run Swansway Motor Group and when they entered the transfer market, they didn’t have to look far afield.
Swansway Motor Group Director, Peter Smyth, commented, “Our aim is always to produce home-grown talent, to support everyone in our team to reach their full potential and the latest moves at Stafford and Stoke Audi show the depth of talent we now have in our business”.
“Being a family-owned and run business allows us the flexibility to promote staff when they’re ready, not when they’ve reached the appropriate grade and I’m absolutely delighted for all three of the team at Stafford Audi; they now have the opportunity to fulfil their potential with new and exciting roles within our business. Congratulations to them all”, added Peter.
Neil Rimmer moves from Head of Business at Stafford Audi to Head of Business at Stoke Audi, Swansway’s largest dealership; Kevin Cunliffe will take over Neil’s role moving from General Sales Manager and Ed Hill is promoted from Sales Executive to New Car Sales Manager.
Neil, who lives in Stoke, has been with Swansway since it was formed in 2003, “Since my first day I’ve felt part of something, a wider family if you like and I’ve been encouraged to push myself and to progress”.
“I started as a Sales Executive at Stoke Audi and I’ve moved round Swansway’s Audi centres in Crewe and Stafford progress into Used Car Manager, General Sales Manager and then Head of Business at Stafford Audi. This promotion, heading up the group’s largest Audi centre is really exciting and I’m looking forward to taking the centre from strength to strength”, added Neil.
Kevin has been with Swansway 13 years starting as a Sales Executive at Crewe Audi, while Ed is a relative newcomer with just 3 and a half years under his belt at the family owned business.
Swansway owns and operates 22 dealerships, 6 of which are Audi Centres based in Crewe, Stafford, Stoke, Blackburn, Preston and Carlisle; Swansway also owns and operates Stafford Land Rover.
