Perkbox Medical launches in UK to aid public healthcare
Today (November 20), Perkbox, an employee experience platform, has launched Perkbox Medical.
It is said to be accessible, making it ‘easy’ to manage private healthcare solution designed to dramatically reduce health insurance costs for every company.
With this new product, Perkbox aims to work alongside the NHS to complement the areas where public healthcare is dominant, whilst fast-tracking patients through the areas where it is most challenged.
In doing so, it promises to more than halve the standard cost of private insurance, giving businesses, large and small, the opportunity to provide private medical health cover to its employees.
Hannah Sims, product manager at Perkbox Medical, said: “As essential as it sounds, private healthcare is really expensive. Not every business can afford it.
“The good news is that Perkbox is entering the market with a product designed to be affordable and accessible to companies of all shapes and sizes, stripping out the complexity that often comes with private corporate healthcare and replacing it with a simple, easy to manage tech-based solution.”
Over one million people a week in the UK struggle to see a doctor. GP surgeries tend to only be open during the usual working hours and many are stretched to fit everyone in, resulting in two weeks worth of appointment waiting time.
On the other hand, being absent at work is said to be costing UK businesses £77bn per year. A private health insurance policy in the UK costs an average of £1,400 per year.
Only eight per cent of the UK population currently have access to private healthcare.
Perkbox Medical aims to solve absence in the UK and supports the NHS with patient issues that are in highest demand through public healthcare.
