'Bike of the future' JIVR launches new product with Seedrs funding to attract non-cyclists
Today (January 14), JIVR, a foldable, electric and chainless bike company, has launched its latest product, JIVR | Senses.
JIVR | Senses is a new project aimed at improving rider safety and security on the road, whilst also expanding the cycling market by attracting non-cyclists to the benefits of e-bikes.
In Europe alone, 100 million people commute to work each day, but less than 10 per cent use bikes due to cycling-related hassles.
JIVR was launched as a concept in 2012 as a result of a University College London research paper which studied the quality of city life.
CEO and founder, Marcin Piatkowski concluded the research with an idea to popularise cycling to work.
He believed that, in order to turn regular commuters into cyclists, he needed to design a bike that offers all the benefits of cycling without the lifestyle compromises that usually come with it.
He said: “Since its inception, JIVR has been focused on creating a product which appeals to the masses and solves everyday commuter headaches.
“The launch of JIVR | Senses seeks to continue this mission and will help improve the safety of cyclists, thus eliminating further pain-points for those not yet sold on using an e-bike as part of their everyday routine.
“We look forward to rounding it off on a high by inviting all our existing supporters to join us in our Seedrs round.”
In order to support the project’s rollout, as well as the opening of its new concept store in Frankfurt in 2019 and production of four new products by 2020, the company has launched an €850k investment round on Seedrs.
