Dublin fintech plots expansion and job creation in Gateshead
A Dublin-based fintech company is creating jobs to expand its presence in Gateshead.
Phonovation, which provides banking security services using mobile networks, launched a technical hub in the Baltic Quarter in 2017.
Now, the firm has revealed plans to take on six new staff in the town over the next six months.
Paddy Woods, director at Phonovation, said of the expansion: “With the assistance of Guy Currey at Invest North East England and Kerry Walker at Gateshead Council we quickly identified the large and highly skilled talent pool in the area.
“That’s why we chose Gateshead for our technical hub.”
He added: “The North East of England is best placed to deliver the skills required to grow and service this fast paced and technically challenging sector.”
Discussing Phonovation’s recruitment plans, Paddy said the business is currently looking to hire three .Net developers to immediately strengthen it technical team.
He added: “[This] will bring the total headcount to seven and the plan is to increase this to 10 within six months.”
