Flexible workspace with integrated childcare hits £100k crowdfunding target
London-based flexible workspace Cuckooz Nest has hit its funding objective of £100k on the first anniversary of the company’s launch.
Founded by Charlie Rosier and Fabienne O’Neill, Cuckooz Nest provides a combination of office space and Ofsted-registered creche facilities for working parents, and has seen ‘overwhelming’ demand since opening its hybrid space in Clerkenwell a year ago.
The crowdfunding has seen a balanced split of 52 per cent to 48 per cent between female and male investors. Charlie Rosier explained: Nest is as much about helping fathers as it is mothers, so it’s great to see an even balance of male and female investors.
“That said, with the issues of returning to work post-birth often impacting more women, we’re glad to see the scales tip slightly in favour of female investors and the great bunch of ladies that have shown faith in us.”
As a result of the ongoing crowdfunding campaign, the company plans to launch its second site later this year, providing care for children aged up to 5 years.
Co-founder Charlie commented: “We’re over the moon to have reached our target and on Nest’s first birthday of all days.
This raise is going to provide the foundations required to build the Nest family even further and we can’t wait to open the doors of our second site.“
