Leeds broker begins growth drive with Scarborough firm acquisition
Insurance specialist JM Glendinning has bought Scarborough firm Ridley Macmillan Insurance Brokers in the start of a growth drive.
Established in Scarborough over 20 years ago, Ridley Macmillan along with its clients and employees will become part of the Leeds-based firm, with managing director Julie Ridley transferring to JM Glendinning’s Scarborough office.
JM Glendinning managing director Nick Houghton commented: “ “Ridley Macmillan is a great fit for our group and we’re pleased to have them on board. It’s a smooth transition for the team and access to more products and services for the customers from the people they are used to dealing with.”
With offices across Yorkshire, North East and the Midlands, the deal marks the beginning of JM Glendinning’s plans to make further acquisitions.
Nick explained: “We’re particularly looking at small independently-owned firms with their finger on the pulse and with excellent connections in their local area, which is exactly what the Ridley Macmillan team has brought to the group.”
