Mobile veterinary practice on the road following £40k investment
Regional mobile veterinary practice Vets On The Meowve has launched its portable surgery unit.
This is set to enable pets in the region to receive stress-free surgical treatment in the comfort of their own environment.
Founder and CEO, Christine Murphy RVN has invested over £40k into the newly equipped van, which now means the team can perform minor surgery and treatments at clients’ homes. Procedures include neutering, dentals and minor surgery.
Christine, who launched Vets On The Meowve in 2018, said: “The new mobile unit means we can travel to patients’ homes and perform surgery in the van just outside their house, without the stress of the animal having to travel to a local veterinary practice and be in an unfamiliar environment for too long.
“The van is fully equipped and includes anesthetic equipment, kennels, a dental machine and other monitoring equipment. We currently aim to treat one animal at a time unless it’s a household where multiple animals can be seen to at once.”
With the launch of the mobile unit, Christine has expanded her veterinary team which includes Konrad Koziński MRCVS, Louise Manasco MRCVS, Rebecca Plant RVN and Tyrina Gibson RVN.
Christine added: “The purpose of Vets On The Meowve is to not only help the wellbeing of animals, but also the practical and mental wellbeing of people in the North East.
“From elderly people with mobility issues and families with young children, to individuals with mental health difficulties and full-time workers who struggle for time, the mobile vets service [can] help make a stressful situation a more positive and stress-free experience.”
