New light commercial lifts help to keep Isle of Man’s ambulances on the road

Ambulances on the Isle of Man will be staying on the road longer following the installation of two new vehicle lifts from TotalKare.

The government-owned and operated bus service has expanded its capacity at Bus Vannin’s workshop with the installation of two light commercial four post lifts from the Midlands-based lifting specialist.

This follows a restructure five years ago, which brought the maintenance of the ambulance fleet under the Isle of Man Transport umbrella. The addition of the state-of-the-art four post lifts will help facilitate the safe and efficient repair and maintenance of the island’s growing fleet of emergency vehicles.

TotalKare’s light commercial four post lift is one of the newest in the company’s ever-increasing range and part of a multi-product launch earlier this year, along with a wash bay mobile column lift and mobile/in-ground brake testers.

Karl Woolford, Engineering Manager at Bus Vannin, said: “We were pleased to hear that TotalKare was introducing its new light commercial four post lift, which has improved the working environment considerably for the maintenance team.

“We have been using its heavy-duty mobile column lifts to service and maintain our bus fleet for some time now, so we knew the product would be up to the task. The comprehensive aftermarket support is also invaluable on an island in the middle of the Irish Sea! We are extremely happy with the new product and the service.”
