EAU Successes Spark Recruitment Drive
A growing order book at Birstall-based Energy Assets Utilities (EAU) – one of Britain’s leading utility network construction companies – is opening up new employment opportunities for local people.
The business, which provides gas, water, electricity and fibre networks for many thousands of new homes and commercial developments every year, is projecting significant growth in demand for its services over the rest of 2019. As a result, it is launching a recruitment drive for electrical designers, back office support and site-based operatives.
Craig Topley, Group Managing Director (Construction), said that business development activity, particularly in the commercial and industrial sector, was delivering impressive results.
“Historically, we have been very strong in the residential sector – indeed we are currently working with housebuilders on many projects across the country, including a number of high-profile schemes in the city of London,” said Craig. “Now though, our expertise as a company is leading to more opportunities in the commercial sector, including energy grid projects, business parks, and hotel, warehousing and retail developments, and we are keen to continuing the impressive growth by recruiting good calibre people.”
EAU has openings for up to 25 people across its business, ranging from site-based operatives to design engineers and back office roles in planning and scheduling. Site-based people can work flexibly, wherever in the country they are based.
“What sets EAU apart is our ability to deliver utility network construction projects from end -to-end, covering every element from project scoping to design and installation,” said Craig. “Now, we are embracing digital technology and extending our expertise to include fibre-to-the-home and EV charging networks. This means there will be even more opportunities for our people in the future, so it’s is a great time to be joining our industry.”
