Growing North Tyneside retail park to welcome two new national brands
A growing retail park in North Tyneside is set to expand further with the addition of two new national brands.
Northumberland Retail Park in Shiremoor has agreed terms with bargain retailer B&M and leisure operator JD Gyms to join the growing complex.
B&M will take a 23,982 sq ft unit with ancillary garden centre, while JD Gyms will occupy a new 25,973 sq ft facility at the park.
The park, which is managed by Northumberland Estates, has seen ‘significant’ expansion over the last 12 months, including the completion of a new Aldi and drive-thru Costa which were completed in August 2018.
Anthony Cape, asset manager at Northumberland Estates, commented: “Shiremoor and the surrounding area is an increasingly desirable residential location and there are currently around 750 homes under construction with a further 2,000 planned on land next to Northumberland Retail Park.
“The ease of access to the A19 makes it a very popular position for a wide range of retailers and leisure operators. We are confident that we can build on our recent success to establish Northumberland Park as one of the region’s major retail destinations.”
