Warehouse completed at £105m business and employment park
Work has now completed at a distribution warehouse at a new £105m business park development near Leeds.
The facility in the Sherburn2 business park at Sherburn-in-Elmet has been sold by Yorkshire firm Glentrool Estates Group to Cromwell Polythene Ltd for £4.5m.
Comprising 50,000 sq ft of warehouse space, the unit is part of the 75-acre site at Junction 42 of the A1(M), which is expected to create hundreds of sustainable jobs.
Jeremy Nolan, a director of Glentrool, commented: “This is a very significant time for us, as it underlines the fact that Sherburn2 is now open for business. After years of hard work and preparation, our first building completed.
“We are delighted to welcome Cromwell Polythene Ltd, a flourishing local family-run business, to Sherburn2. We have worked closely with Cromwell over the past 12 months to ensure their building is perfect for their business and provides a platform for growth for a secure and successful future.”
Selby District Council’s executive member with responsibility for economic development, Cllr David Buckle, added: “The Sherburn2 development is one of Yorkshire’s most important new development sites.
“It has the potential to create hundreds of quality new jobs for Selby district, which is why we’ve been working alongside the developers to make this happen.
“The expansion of Cromwell to their new premises demonstrates a real confidence in the Selby district as a place to invest, right at the heart of Yorkshire.”
