£83m ‘luxury’ mixed-use development in Bermondsey gets go-ahead
Planning permission has been granted for an £83m development comprising ‘luxury’ residential properties in South East London.
Galliard Homes, in association with Acorn Property Group, has received planning permission from Southwark Council for the Newhams Yard mixed-use development in Bermondsey.
Situated at 151-157 Tower Bridge Road, the development will provide three buildings of up to ten storeys arranged to create a new public courtyard, with retail, restaurant and office amenities on the ground floor
Comprising 86 studio, one, two and three-bedroom apartments , the development will also feature 143 aparthotel properties operated by The Serviced Apartment Company (SACO).
David Galman, sales director at Galliard Homes, commented: “Galliard Homes are delighted with the decision made by Southwark Council granting planning permission for our new scheme Newhams Yard.
“The scheme will create a new communal hub for the local area with a variety of cafes, restaurants and retail opportunities which we anticipate will be very popular with local residents. We look forward to bringing our plans for stylish homes at Newhams Yard to life.”
Newhams Yard is the latest joint venture for Galliard Homes and Acorn Property Group, with other projects including Bath-based Georgian Grade II Listed scheme Hope House, former Roman temple-turned-residential scheme Trilogy and Design House - the redevelopment of a former design studio into apartments.
Melanie Omirou, executive group managing director and funding director at Acorn Property Group, added: “Following the positive decision to grant planning permission for Newhams Yard, we look forward to bringing another exceptional scheme to buyers.”
