Wellbeing firm secures Selfridges partnership and $930k seed funding in first two months
A wellbeing company has secured $930k seed investment and launched an exclusive retail partnership with Selfridges after two months of trading.
CBD (cannabidiol) based wellbeing firm Grass & Co. has closed a seed funding round backed by a number of unnamed angel investors.
Launched in July 2019, Grass & Co. specialises in products with THC-free CBD, made using hemp flowers grown organically in Europe. The CBD oil is blended with natural, organic botanical ingredients according to Grass & Co.’s proprietary formulations.
As part of the deal with Selfridges, Grass & Co.’s EASE and CALM collections will be available in its London and Manchester stores or via its website.
The seed funding will be used on product development as well as boosting the firm’s marketing activities and accelerating business growth.
Toby Gordon-Smith, CEO at Grass & Co., commented: “At Grass & Co. we’re committed to producing a quality, ethically sourced CBD product free from pesticides and herbicides that consumers can trust.
“We’ve also partnered with some of the best food scientists to develop a CBD formulation with complementary botanicals to provide additional wellness benefits as well as a superior taste and sensory experience.”
Emily Saunders, Selfridges beauty workshop buyer, added: “CBD is one of the fastest growing well-being product categories in the UK.
“Grass & Co.’s brand values together with the quality and provenance of its product ingredients and commitment to ethical sourcing was a great fit for Selfridges.”
