Energy supplier marks 25-year anniversary with 7,000 sq ft expansion
A Harrogate-based energy supplier has added an additional 7,000 sq ft of space to its operation during its 25th year in business.
CNG, a shipper and supplier of natural gas to the UK, now occupies the full four-storey space covering 23,000 sq ft at its headquarters in a former HM Revenue and Customs building at Victoria Avenue.
The company, which has over 50,000 direct customers and 2.6 million through its shipping network, has scaled up amidst increased consumer demand for renewable energy services.
CNG’s managing director, Jacqui Hall, said: “To reach 25 years of CNG is something we’re incredibly proud of.
“We set out over two decades ago to change the face and perception of our industry, and while there’s always more work to be done, we’re delighted with the work our amazing team continues to do to actively boost consumer choice, energy education and customer service levels.”
The firm was founded following the deregulation of the gas industry in 1994, and has gone on to secure multiple industry awards for its customer service.
It has been recognised for its work in bringing other suppliers to the market in order to enhance competition.
She added: “Our focus for the next 25 is looking at how we build a future that serves our changing energy landscape.
“Our renewables team is up and running and we’re working hard, listening to customers and brokers to ensure we offer a portfolio that works for them.”
