North East building society acquires second Yorkshire firm in growth drive
A North East building society has made its second acquisition in Yorkshire as part of its growth strategy.
Newcastle Building Society finance subsidiary Newcastle Financial Advisors has acquired financial advice company Carter James Associates as part of its ongoing expansion across the region.
Based in Askrigg in North Yorkshire, Carter James Associates has been providing financial advice to a range of clients for nine years, and is led by director Amanda Carter.
Amanda, who has joined Newcastle Financial Advisers as part of the acquisition, commented: “I’m really looking forward to working for the North East’s largest building society as a part of Newcastle Financial Advisers – we both value our local communities.
“As I’ve been working singlehandedly for the past few years, I’m really looking forward to working with likeminded people and interacting with colleagues!
“I’m eager to further develop the genuine relationships I’ve worked hard to create over the past few years, and give them enhanced access to products and services.”
The acquisition of the firm comes as the building society rolls out a multi-million pound investment across its branch network.
Stuart Dodson, managing director of Newcastle Financial Advisers, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Amanda to the growing team.
“She brings valuable experience and knowledge of the North Yorkshire region that she will continue to develop as she works across Barnard Castle and Hawes.”
“Hand in hand with the society, we’re growing our presence and commitment across the region. People need accessible, face to face financial advice regardless of their means, and being local is key to providing this.”
