‘Guilt-free’ instant noodle startup smashes £1.75m Seedrs target
A food firm specialising in healthy instant noodles has hit its crowdfunding target less than a week after the campaign launch on Seedrs.
Mr Lee’s has announced it has secured £1.75m from 220 investors in its latest funding round, including ‘significant’ backing from Monde Nissin Corporation CEO Henry Soesanto.
The company, which specialises in instant noodles free from preservatives, MSG and gluten, has seen a 918 per cent increase in e-commerce revenue since the start of the COVID-19 crisis and subsequent government-mandated lockdown.
Founded by entrepreneur Damien Lee following his recovery from stage 4 chest and stomach cancer, the brand aims to offer a healthy ‘guilt-free’ version of Damien’s favourite snack - instant noodles.
This latest funding, which brings the firm’s total Seedrs investment to £6.5m, will be used to drive its international growth following its launch in the US this month.
Damien Lee, founder and CEO of Mr Lee’s, commented: “We are delighted by the huge support we’ve experienced so far in this funding round.
“It demonstrates that now, more than ever, there’s a clear demand for convenient, healthy and delicious noodles.
“We look forward to welcoming our new investors on our journey into our next exciting phase of growth.”
