North East law firm expands into Yorkshire with new Leeds office
A North East commercial law firm has expanded its national reach with the opening of a new Yorkshire base.
Square One Law has launched a new office in Leeds as part of its ongoing expansion across the North.
Founded in 2011 in Newcastle, the commercial law specialist opened its second office in Tees Valley in 2018 to meet increased demand for its services.
Yorkshire property lawyer Matthew Thompson has been brought onboard to lead the firm’s Leeds operation.
Ian Gilthorpe, senior partner at Square One Law, commented: “We believe the government will deliver on its commitment to invest more into northern regions, which will create further opportunities.
“Our property team already acts for clients such as Highbridge, Muse Developments, Landid, Marrico, Home Group and Persimmon, so having offices in Newcastle, Teesside and Leeds will allow us to support our clients from three key areas across the North.”
Speaking about Matthew’s appointment, Ian continued: “Leeds has been of interest to the firm for some time and Matthew is a class act, so I am delighted that he has joined us to support our growth strategy.”
