Improvement work restart at Milton Keynes ‘most popular’ park
MAC Construction Consultants oversee exciting leisure development Phase Two Improvement work set to improve the visitor experience at Milton Keynes’ 6,000-acre parkland and green space site, Willen Lake, are now back underway as construction contractor Ashe Construction returns to site.
The project will deliver an impressive new building that will house a purpose-built water sports centre where visitors will be able to enjoy wakeboarding activities, an inflatable watercourse – Aqua Parks – and a new café and restaurant.
Designed by Q2 Architects the building will have state-of-the-art facilities for customers including modern changing rooms, showers and additional toilets, whilst also being fully accessible with level access lifts.
Phase two of the improvement work is due to be completed in time for the 2021 summer season.
MAC Construction Consultants are overseeing the project management of the development and are providing Quantity Surveying and Safety, Health and Environment services.
Andrew Morris, Director of Ashe Construction said: “We are delighted to be re-mobilising the construction works on this exciting project. The recent events have served as a timely reminder of how important our green open spaces and recreational facilities are for our wellbeing.

Dan Campbell, Senior Cost Manager at MAC added: “This is a truly impressive project being brought forward by The Parks Trust and will set the level of what all communities should strive for in terms of community space.
“It’s been fantastic to be able to get the project back on site safely, and we will be working closely with the team to ensure this project is delivered on time and on budget.”
