Edtech group expands global reach with acquisition of Australian firm
A London-headquartered edtech has grown its international presence with the acquisition of an Australian business.
Learning Technologies Group (LTG) has acquired eCreators for an initial consideration of A$5.5m (equivalent of around £3.1m).
eCreators is Australia’s largest provider of open-source LMS Moodle. Following the acquisition, the business will be integrated into LTG’s existing Moodle business Open LMS.
This latest acquisition by LTG is part of the firm’s wider strategy to add complementary knowledge and geographical reach in the global Moodle market, as outlined at the time of the announcement of the Open LMS acquisition in March 2020.
Jonathan Satchell, CEO of LTG, commented: “I am delighted that eCreators is joining LTG. eCreators’ culture fits closely with ours, and I am particularly excited by its potential to integrate with and extend the capability and geographic reach of our market-leading Moodle expert, Open LMS.
“Our Moodle technology is highly scalable, and eCreators will help us identify and pursue the growth opportunity in the global Moodle market.”
