Yorkshire caravan manufacturer to create 70 jobs with new Hull site
A Yorkshire caravan manufacturer has announced that it is creating 70 new jobs as it opens a new site in Hull.
Victory Leisure, which is owned by JR Rix and Sons, will be tripling its manufacturing capacity as it opens the new Leads Road site.
The company said that demand has risen for ‘staycations’ since the beginning of the pandemic, and that it is now nearing production levels of 2,500 units per year.
It is also expanding its headquarters in Gilberdyke.
James Doyle, chief executive, said: “We are expanding production at the Victory site in Gilberdyke but also opening an additional facility in Hull.
“We bought the old Kingstown Furniture facility on Leads Road just before the start of Covid in February last year, and now we are opening it as an additional facility for Victory.”
“We are tripling our leisure home manufacturing capability.
“It will need 70 people, all new, full-time jobs and I think it is a really positive story employing in a pandemic, and testament to the success of the business.”
