London healthcare company accelerates growth strategy with Canadian acquisition
A London healthcare business has announced that it has bought a Canadian company as part of its growth strategy.
Alimentiv Inc, which was previously part of Robarts Research, has announced its purchase of McDougall Scientific, based in Toronto.
This comes following a recruitment drive that saw Alimentiv’s workforce increase to nearly 400 staff.
The integration of McDougall Scientific to the company adds around 20 employees.
Jeff Smith, chief executive of Alimentiv, commented: “This supports our future growth in biostatistics.
“That is about a $1.5bn sector, a growing sector and McDougall Scientific is an excellent brand with a depth of expertise in the area.
“There is a strong synergy. We have collaborated with them this past year and this is an opportunity for us both to grow. They complement what we do.
“We have grown through the pandemic. In the first two months of this year we added 30 employees globally.
“We continue to make investment in medical research. We commit a lot of money every year to research. We have collaborations with Western and in California and Amsterdam.”
