Flowbird completes large P&D contract for Hillingdon
Flowbird has installed 273 pay and display terminals for the London Borough of Hillingdon, completing one of the largest parking contracts awarded in the last 12 months.
Flowbird’s solar-powered Strada EVO2 machines have been installed in both on and off-street locations, providing coin and contactless payment options for residents and visitors.
The terminals are also configured to accept the HillingdonFirst card, which offers residents preferential rates for parking at all council car parks as well as discounts at hundreds of participating businesses across the borough.
The P&D technology is linked to Flowbird’s Smartfolio centralised management system, enabling the local authority to monitor its entire terminal estate remotely and access detailed parking and payment transaction data to help inform future parking strategy. It also enables the council to monitor terminal status to ensure optimal uptime through timely maintenance and coin collection.
Danny Hassett, Managing Director at Flowbird Smart City UK, commented: “We are delighted to be partnering with the London Borough of Hillingdon with a technology solution that helps the authority meets its strategic traffic management and environmental goals.
“It also provides the convenience of contactless payments to motorists, including ApplePay and GooglePay, while enabling residents to benefit from preferential parking charges available through their HillingdonFirst cards.”
