Coach company expands with first North East destinations
A UK coach company has announced that it is expanding in the North East as it launches in Newcastle and Sunderland.
FlixBus, an inter-city coach provider, is adding ten new destinations across the UK, including its first ever North East stops, in Newcastle and Sunderland.
The company re-launched its domestic network in April and completed an initial expansion in May, saying that the overall demand for travel is growing.
Andreas Schorling, managing director of FlixBus UK, commented: “We are excited to offer convenient travel to people from Newcastle and Sunderland.
“This is a great time for people in the UK to discover their own country and do so sustainably travelling by coach.
“Whereas coach travel is already very popular across the UK, we believe that the market still has the potential to grow.
“Thus far, we have received strong support from the industry to bring in an alternative and a new player that is approaching operators as partners.”
