Lee Read joins Anesco as Projects and Engineering Director
Reading-based renewable energy company, Anesco, has appointed Lee Read as Projects and Engineering Director.
Lee joins Anesco as the company gears up for significant growth, with a pipeline of large scale solar and storage projects expected to exceed 1,500MW over the course of the next 5 years.
With a career within the energy industry that spans more than 30 years, Lee previously held senior operational, engineering, project roles at Bioenergy Infrastructure Group, where he was responsible for the turnaround of a waste to energy power plant in Hull, and Centrica, where he led a team delivering £180million of investment in distributed energy assets.
As Projects and Engineering Director, Lee will focus on delivering Anesco’s ambitious pipeline of new construction projects, both in the UK and Europe.
Commenting on his appointment, Lee said: “As someone who is passionate about the transition to clean energy, I’m really proud to be heading up projects at Anesco that will support the UK in achieving its net zero ambitions. I look forward to working with the team to drive further growth and champion innovation and excellence in renewable energy.”
Mark Futyan, Anesco CEO, said: “We’re thrilled to have Lee on board. He is a highly experienced energy professional, with a strong track record in power engineering, battery storage, project management and operations, and will be an asset to the team.
“Lee joins Anesco at an exciting time for us, as work gets underway on our latest wave of large-scale solar and storage projects. Despite the unique challenges of the last 18 months, we have experienced significant growth across all areas of the business, from development and EPC, through to asset maintenance and optimisation.”
Anesco is a market leader in renewable energy, managing the development, design, construction, maintenance and market optimisation of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects. The company has constructed more than 100 solar farms, while its O&M service is monitoring more than 24,000 sites.
