Yorkshire Water announces partnership with ‘problem-solving’ innovation businesses
Yorkshire Water has announced a partnership with 32 innovation businesses which will see suppliers bid for contracts to provide solutions to the water company’s challenges.
The regional water company is looking for innovative new approaches from the partners, focusing on areas including water supply interruptions, leakage and avoiding the need to break ground.
The solutions aim to improve regulatory performance and cost efficiency.
The partnership organisations will join Yorkshire Water’s ‘Innovation Marketplace’ and be invited to take part in procurement ‘competitions’.
Neil Dewis, Yorkshire Water said: “The Innovation Marketplace will help us to adopt solutions that are new to market or have been developed through our innovation programme.
“We hope the solutions will improve the quality of service on our network, reduce customer supply interruptions and carbon emissions.”
Yorkshire Water supplies over 5 million customers including 140,000 businesses.
