Newcastle firm triumphant in global sourcing awards

Newcastle-headquartered sales and marketing specialist durhamlane has received industry recognition for its work with global food services and facilities management company Sodexo at the prestigious Global Sourcing Association (GSA) Professional Awards 2021.

durhamlane, which is based in North Shields, was crowned ‘Best Nearshore Team’, which is awarded to teams showcasing excellence and delivering value in delivery of services across the UK.

The firm’s sales development representative Matthew Mould was also shortlisted in the GSA Professional Awards ‘Rising Star of the Year’ category, which honours the sector’s best emerging talent.

The GSA Professional awards celebrate the success of individuals and teams who deliver significant value to the global sourcing industry, recognising talent in outsourcing and shared services, and showcasing individuals and function teams who are making a difference. The awards were announced on the 2 November at a virtual ceremony.

durhamlane chief operation officer Jake Spence said: “A big part of our strategy is to become the sales partner of choice for global enterprise organisations. We’ve won this award due to the trust we’ve built and the return on investment we’ve been able to generate in such a short space of time; this is a clear indicator we’re on track to achieve our ambitious goals.

“The scope of work was right in our sweet spot; the transformative nature of the work paired with multilingual demand and lead generation made us a perfect partner. To win this with Sodexo is something I’m personally delighted about, as their values are very much aligned with both who we are today and who we want to be tomorrow.”

Discussing the win, the GSA judging panel added: “durhamlane is all about executing well on a mature process. The judges liked their ten-point ‘Sales Mantra’ and how they leverage that to show they are part of the Sodexo team. The team are very focused and have a great vision, with an inside sales team strategy as an add-on to client retention and cold inquiries.”

durhamlane specialises in generating demand and qualified sales leads on behalf of large mid-market, challenger and enterprise companies, with a complex B2B product or service offering, across the UK, Europe and North America.

The firm, which celebrated its tenth anniversary this year, has also been shortlisted in the ‘Best Use of Direct Mail’ category in the B2B Marketing Awards 2021. The winners will be revealed on 24 November at an in-person awards ceremony in London.
