Barnardo’s ETSNorth supports learners into employment, apprenticeships and training

Barnardo’s is a charity with over 150 years of history and experience in supporting the most vulnerable children, young people and families in the United Kingdom. Barnardo’s ambition remains to achieve better outcomes for more children and young people.

In line with this mission, Barnardo’s ETSNorth has been supporting young people aged 16 plus with progressing into a positive destination, becoming more independent and achieving better life outcomes for over 30 years.

Karen Hardy, Employability Training Supervisor with ETSNorth who leads on media and recruitment tells us more about the business:

We specialise in helping the most vulnerable, hardest-to-reach children and young people, often facing multiple or complex barriers to training and employment. We also work with adult job seekers aged 19+ who find it difficult to access the job market and need support to find a new career.

Our team draws on Barnardo’s organisational knowledge, specialist services and networks to ensure young people receive the best possible holistic support to pursue their progression and employment ambitions. Our courses are tailored to ensure learners can reach their full potential.

We work with multinational, UK and local Employers in a wide range of industries to support learners into employment, apprenticeships and training. We work alongside business to train learners on work experience with them to understand the needs of the business and this is beneficial if the business then wishes to take that learner on board as an apprentice.

We also specialise in delivering vocational qualifications to companies wishing to develop their staff and this can be tailored to suit your business needs. We promote our work with business via our social media, building good relationships and community spirit.

Our purpose built centre is easily accessible by both metro and bus routes. Our classrooms, bespoke salons and Construction areas, encourage learning and mirror real working environments. Our Hair and Beauty salons are open to the public and as a way to enhance learner experience, take bookings throughout the week.
