London workplace specialist signs lease on “innovative” office space for hybrid working SMEs

The Boutique Workplace Company has signed a new ten-year lease on 73 Watling Street, London, its first leasehold acquisition since the advent of the pandemic.

The deal involves the 9,311 sq ft building to be transformed to provide a new home for SMEs with a hybrid workforce, post-Covid.

Acting on behalf of Boutique, Paul Glinsman of Glinsman Weller, commented: “We have been working on this acquisition prior to Covid so it feels great to be restoring confidence to the leasehold market and to find the perfect offering for Boutique and their flexible workspace occupiers.”

Due to open in March 2022, the offices have been designed to feature smart TVs to connect workers with a hybrid or remote workforce to which they have now adapted. The workplace features an “attractive rooftop terrace”, breakout space, and access to a range of popular local shops below.

As well as enjoying the building’s amenities, residents will be able to access 12 of The Boutique Workplace Company’s membership lounge locations and over 40 meeting rooms across a collection of over 30 workplaces in London and beyond.

Dan Wheble, CEO at The Boutique Workplace Company, added: “The way we work has evolved massively in the last two years and we’re thrilled to see more and more employees understanding the benefits of working for smaller, boutique companies offering flexibility, adaptability and responsiveness like our clients do.

“Our model is based on quirky buildings that fit small-medium sized businesses. They have character but needed careful planning to refit and are suited to smaller companies. This is where a building like Watling Street really shines. Plus, it has amenities such as outdoor space and smart TVs in every office, making it an innovative space post-Covid.”
