Hampshire housebuilder announces impressive H1 results prioritising quality and customer service
Barratt Developments, made up of Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes, has announced an excellent half year results, ahead of previous expectations and pre-Covid levels.
The company, which is building homes across Hampshire, recorded 8,067 house completions in the six-month period ended 31 December 2021, and is on track to deliver a total of 18,000 home completions, including joint ventures, in 2022.
These impressive results, although down slightly from the 9,077 houses sold at the same time in 2021, reflect a more typical pattern, with last year’s sales following a dislocation created by the initial Covid lockdown in Spring 2020.
And as the five-star housebuilder continues to lead the industry in delivering high-quality sustainable homes and developments the country needs, creating jobs and aiding economic growth, it remains focussed on its customers and the quality of service it provides.
Jon Green, Managing Director of Barratt and David Wilson Homes’ Southampton division said: “We have delivered an excellent first half year and this strong rebound in our construction activity means we now expect to deliver on more homes this year than previous expectations.
“This increase in construction activity has not affected our focus on our customers, on quality and service and on acting in responsible and ethical way. We continue to work hard to lead the industry in building the high-quality sustainable homes and developments the country needs.”
Barratt Developments’ continued industry leadership in quality and customer service has been recognised through a seventeenth successive year of achieving more NHBC Pride in the Job Awards than any other housebuilder and a twelfth consecutive year of receiving the HBF maximum 5 Star customer satisfaction rating.
It has also made significant progress as the leading national sustainable housebuilder with the completion of the Z House, a unique zero carbon concept home showcasing the future of sustainable living in the UK. It was awarded “2021 Sustainable Housebuilder of the Year” and ranked Top 30 in Glassdoor’s “Best Places to Work 2022”.
