Neil Kenderdine joins GNG as Operations Manager
Fast-growing West Yorkshire business GNG Group has appointed Neil Kenderdine as operations manager to head up the expansion and operations of its medical and consumer mattress division. Headquartered in Wakefield, GNG Group was established in 1987 and has grown into a £10m turnover business, employing more than 90 people. It has become an international brand leader and supplier of foam-based products, primarily serving the medical, consumer and sports sectors. With 40 years’ experience in the sector, Neil joins GNG Group from the Usleep mattress division at Belfield in Manchester where he was operations manager for the last three years. Prior to this, Neil spent 16 years with Slumberland in Oldham, working his way up from production operative to works manager. This was followed by 10 years at Breasley where he set up the plant and recruited and trained the workforce to bring a completely new line of mattress and divans to the market. In his new role with GNG, Neil will head up operations for the expanding mattress division which includes its Komfi vacuum-packed mattress brand. “Recruiting an operations manager with Neil’s calibre and experience is testament to our ambitious growth plans,” says GNG Group managing director Darren Potterton. “Having seen increasing demand across our mattress division in the last couple of years, we have some exciting projects ahead which will enable us to continue to build the business. “As well as investing in our manufacturing facilities, it is also vital that we strengthen the team and to have someone with Neil’s experience in this sector will be of huge value as we continue to expand.” Neil adds: “Joining a fast-growing business like GNG Group at such an exciting time is a fantastic opportunity – I look forward to working with the team as we continue to increase capacity and efficiency.”
