Six figure investment allows Sheffield tech firm to expand products

A Sheffield tech firm launches its new product development brand, biild, after a six-figure investment.

AME Group’s biild, questioned UK adults about their understanding and interest in purpose-led products, which was defined in the survey as a product with a core mission of solving a wider problem, meeting a need in society, or addressing the planet’s energy and climate crisis.

The survey explored which product features were most relevant to consumers across the UK and what prices people would be willing to pay, and discovered:

3 in 4 adults want long-lasting and easily repairable products. 74 per cent of adults are willing to pay 10.6 per cent above the average price for purpose-led products. 32 per cent of consumers trust small brands to keep their purpose and sustainable promises compared to big brands.

biild’s design manager, Tim Stern, remarks: “Data from the new survey confirms that our industry and that of our clients is in the middle of a consumer revolution. Consumers now demand products that respond to the social, environmental, and economic challenges we all face.

Brands need to respond and embrace a new way of thinking, one that puts purpose rather than profit at the forefront of decisions. We understand that adapting to this new approach poses practical challenges.

UK brands are on a journey of evolution and transformation to deliver what consumers want, while simultaneously having a positive impact on the world. We don’t judge brands for being at the beginning of their journey, rather we’re here to help them find a pragmatic way to build responsibly and ensure business growth.

biild is our response to the environmental and societal challenges we all face with the goal of delivering positive change for a world where responsibly designed products are the expectation not the exception.“
