Bellway North London acquires three new parcels of land in drive for growth

Bellway North London has acquired the land for three new sites to add to its growing land portfolio, all of which are said to have “unique selling points”.

The housebuilder has acquired parcels of land in West Drayton, Bishop’s Stortford, and the Hertfordshire village of Cuffley, with the three sites covering a total area of 27.06 acres and offering the potential to deliver approximately 350 new homes.

The sites include a development in West Drayton, off Tavistock Road, which could see around 100 new homes built near West Drayton station, with the first properties planned to be released for sale next year.

Bellway has also bought a parcel of land for 124 new homes at St James’ Park in Bishop’s Stortford, adding to the two land parcels the division has already acquired in the area. The first homes are being released for sale on Bellway’s first site at St James’ Park this summer.

The third land purchase is of a site off Northaw Road East in Cuffley which could see a further 121 homes provided.

Ali Maruf, managing director for Bellway North London, said: “The acquisition of these three sites forms part of our strategic outlook for the division and we are actively seeking further attractive land opportunities within the region to help drive the growth of our land portfolio.

“All the sites have different and unique selling points. The first site in West Drayton will be an apartment-led scheme in Greater London, in the borough of Hillingdon. The introduction of Crossrail and the Elizabeth Line in the coming weeks will be an ideal benefit for working professionals looking to commute into central London.

“The second site, within Hertfordshire, will be situated in the affluent village of Cuffley, just north of London. The village has a good range of shops and community facilities including a well-regarded primary school and nursery, as well as a train station.”

“The third land parcel acquired forms the third part of a large-scale, long-term development in Bishop’s Stortford. St James’ Park is a development in partnership with another housebuilder in this East Hertfordshire market town, with plans to provide a care home, schools, an employment park and bus route.”
