Rotherham housing development gets the green light for 320 homes

Redrow has been granted planning permission for 320 new homes in the village of Ravenfield, Rotherham. Redrow acquired the 36-acre development, located off Moor Lane South, earlier this year and work is due to start imminently, with the first homes due to go on sale in the early summer.

The plans granted will include a mix of three, four and five-bedroom homes from Redrow’s Heritage Collection, with 240 homes for private sale and 80 affordable properties, offering a wide range of options to meet the needs of the community.

Located at the centre of the development, which is to be marketed under the name Poppy Fields, will be a large area of open space, featuring a play area and a community orchard.

John Handley, managing director at Redrow Yorkshire, said, “our new development in Ravenfield is meeting strong local demand with a wide choice of homes from our Heritage Collection, which combines Arts and Crafts influenced architecture with thoroughly modern interiors.

“We have also listened to our customers who have requested family friendly layouts, gardens and access to green open space on the development – and this development will offer all of those things and more. We expect demand to be high for this development, so we urge potential purchasers to register their interest early.”

Ravenfield is a small village about three miles east of Rotherham, with a range of primary schools, local amenities, shops and parks. It offers excellent transport links and great access to the M18 and M1. It is also close to nearby Wickersley, which also offers a choice of schools, shops and woodland walks.

Redrow is well known in Yorkshire, having built the Hall Croft development in neighbouring Wickersley and with current developments in Leeds, Harrogate, Huddersfield and Swanland.
