Stratford regeneration hosts “very popular development” from Bellway London
All the apartments at a Bellway London development, which is playing a role in the regeneration of Stratford, have now been built and sold.
The developer has delivered 146 apartments for private sale at Legacy Wharf in Cooks Road, next to Pudding Mill River, as well as 50 affordable homes available for local people through rent or shared ownership.
The development has transformed a former industrial site which was earmarked for regeneration as part of the legacy of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Emma Hamlett, sales director for Bellway London, said: “Legacy Wharf has proved to be a very popular development from the outset particularly with investors keen to secure competitively priced apartments in the capital and first-time buyers wanting to get their foot on the property ladder in an up-and-coming part of London.
“We have delivered a collection of stylish one, two and three-bedroom apartments which include a number of duplex apartments spread across two floors. Buyers were attracted by, and reassured by, the fact that Bellway is a five-star builder and has a reputation for delivering top-quality homes.
“People were also keen to live at Legacy Wharf because it is in a brilliant location, just a few minutes’ walk from Pudding Mill Lane DLR station which offers regular services to Canary Wharf. Westfield Stratford City, which is one of London’s biggest shopping malls and features more than 300 shops as well as restaurants, cafes and bars, is just a mile away.”
Bellway London plans to develop two further parcels of land neighbouring Legacy Wharf, subject to planning consent being secured.
Emma continued: “We are proud to be playing a role in the ongoing regeneration of Stratford, which has so far been a great success. At Bellway London our ethos is to identify brownfield sites and transform them into vibrant new neighbourhoods which provide attainable new homes to a range of buyers.
“Legacy Wharf is a perfect example of this working model and is helping to create a brighter future for this part of East London. These are exciting times for this part of the capital and we are looking forward to continuing to deliver new homes in Stratford as part of the Olympic Games legacy.”
