Bellway delivers investment of more than £3.5 million in Bognor Regis

Bellway is providing funding of more than £3.5m for local services and facilities in Bognor Regis as part of two housing developments in the town.

The housebuilder is delivering 50 homes at Rookery Park, off Barn Lane in North Bersted, where construction work is nearing completion, and 212 properties at Spindrift Park, off Hook Lane in Pagham, where the first houses are due to go on sale this summer.

Under the terms of its planning agreements with Arun District Council, Bellway is contributing more than £450,000 as part of the Rookery Park development, and over £3m for Spindrift Park.

Kim Caldwell, Sales Director at Bellway Wessex, said, “alongside the delivery of 262 high-quality homes to meet the demand for new housing in Bognor Regis, these two developments are bringing much-needed investment into the town.

“Our financial contributions will support essential services such as education and healthcare, as well as paying for improvements to leisure facilities and public open space used by local residents.

“As part of the planning agreements, we are providing 105 of the 262 homes across the two developments as affordable housing for rent or shared ownership, increasing the supply of homes for local people unable to get on the property ladder.”

Contributions being made as part of the planning agreement for Spindrift Park include £2,148,750 towards primary and early years education, £381,609 for leisure facilities, £402,673 towards healthcare, and £158,224 for road improvements.

The development will include 90 affordable homes and large areas of public open space, as well as land for an 80-resident care home and a new primary school.

The planning agreement for Rookery Park includes the provision of 15 affordable homes at the site, as well as contributions of £70,252 for the provision and maintenance of public open space, £56,436 for Maywood and Bognor health centres, and £312,768 to help fund the cost of educational facilities.

Construction work is progressing well at Rookery Park, where the final homes are due to be completed this September. Work is now underway at Spindrift Park, which is set to launch to the public in the summer.
