New office to support accountancy firm’s growth

A North East accountants has expanded with a new office after a year of growth.

Bishop Auckland-based Stuart Hall & Co, which already has premises in Middlesbrough and two in Scotland, has opened a new office in Durham to make room for the five additional members of staff it has welcomed to the team in the last year.

Founder Stuart Hall said: “We have been established for over 12 years and have acquired a number of clients in the Durham area, so it was an obvious location to support the clients we already have and to also reach new ones.

“It has always been our philosophy to ensure our offices do not get too big to keep good communication at the forefront of our company aspirations, so we decided to open an additional office rather than move to a larger one.”

The business has gone from strength to strength recently, expanding by nearly 40 per cent in the last two years.

The new Durham office, which is large enough to accommodate six members of staff, will be headed by David ‘Harry’ Heslington, who was one of Stuart’s first employees.

Harry said: “Our aim is to understand that, to our clients, their business is the most important business in the world and once we understand that we can focus on doing our best to support them, knowing that if we do a good job, they will tell their friends. Over 90 per cent of our new business comes from referrals from existing clients and if growth continues as it has then further office locations are a possibility.”

Stuart Hall & Co was set up by Stuart in 2009 and offers accounting services to individuals, small businesses, self-employed, partnerships and limited companies.

As for the future for the firm, Stuart said: “We just aim to keep on doing what we do and hopefully keep our clients happy, so they continue to tell their friends.”
