Ainscough honoured at Story Contracting supply chain awards

Ainscough Crane Hire’s commitment to safety was recently honoured with an award from Story Contracting.

Story held an event on the 16th June at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester as an opportunity to meet in-person with its supply chain partners that it has been collaborating with over the past two years.

The suppliers have been part of an industry health, safety and sustainability forum, and this day was an opportunity to celebrate the successes they have achieved together.

The day included an overview of Story’s business units and workshops where commitments to improve health, safety and sustainability performance were made.

There were also many opportunities for Ainscough and other attendees to network throughout the day.

For the first time, Story also presented awards to recognise supply chain partners who have raised the bar within the categories of Innovation, Health & Safety, Social Value, Sustainability and Engaging with Plan Safe. The awards praised the hard work and efforts of the partners whilst they have been working collaboratively with Story.

Ainscough was honoured with the Health and Safety award, with the judges commenting: “Ainscough has consistently supported Story’s bi-monthly Health & Safety Forums by offering their best practices, a wide range of perspectives, and questions during the meetings.”

Representing the business on the day was Story account manager Steven Armstrong, who commented: “I’d like to thank our friends at Story for organising such a brilliant event. It was a valuable opportunity to catch up with our industry peers and, of course, to being honoured with the Health and Safety Award was the icing on the cake. At Ainscough, our ultimate principle of Make the Safe Choice underlines all the activity we undertake, and it makes us very proud to see this approach celebrated by our clients.”

Paul Turner, senior HSQE Manager at Story, said, “The day was a huge success, and it was great to see all our partners and be able to celebrate our successes together. But also, to look ahead and plan how we can all improve our HSQE performances in the future.”
