Sunderland-based travel insurance specialists expands amidst travel industry recovery

Sunderland-based Travel Insurance specialists Just Travel Cover has marked the recovery of the travel industry by purchasing the travel insurance and scheme specialist business Alpha Underwriting from CPP Secure Limited.

The leisure Travel Insurance broker, which specialises in cover for those with pre-existing medical conditions and with no age limit, has seen sustained growth in the last twelve months, after international travel restrictions due to Covid had impacted business by up to 90 per cent, with the broker reporting a 51 per cent growth in policies sold this calendar year, against pre-Covid levels.

The growth, which now means Just Travel Cover is on track for its best ever year, has led to the recruitment of several new staff across various department to cope with the increase in demand, growing its workforce by 25 per cent, developing new products, and now acquiring Alpha Underwriting to boost its partnerships division.

Just Travel Cover, who deal directly to the public via its website and call centre in Sunderland, and via a UK-wide network of insurance brokers, will provide its new partners with access to its suite of insurance products, allowing them to offer worldwide travel insurance from a range of insurers with no age limit, cover for hundreds of pre-existing medical conditions, cruises, winter sports and other activities.

The acquisition is part of the North East broker’s mission to become the market leader in the wholesale market for Travel Insurance, and supports its wider vision to be a leading supplier of travel insurance products in the UK, adapting to evolving demands and needs and at the forefront of new technologies.
