Sheffield based prosthetics specialist opens first clinic in Gateshead's Neural Pathways
STEPS Prosthetics, a specialist prosthetics and orthotics company based in Sheffield, has opened its first satellite outpatient clinic based at Neural Pathways in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.
STEPS Prosthetics already works in partnership with STEPS Rehabilitation to be the only UK private prosthetics company to design, manufacture, fit and support amputee clients all within a dedicated residential rehabilitation setting.
With clients attending the facility from across the UK, the company saw an opportunity to expand its outpatient clinic services further North to enable it to better support clients closer to their home.
Neural Pathways is a multi-disciplinary neurological rehabilitation company providing services across the North East, Scotland and Midlands. It provides rehabilitation for people of all ages with complex needs, including amputation, and their experienced team includes Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants.
STEPS Prosthetics will be providing outpatient prosthetic and orthotic services from the Gateshead clinic, working alongside the Neural Pathways clinical team, to offer an interdisciplinary service and to relieve the pressure that travelling longer distances can have on clients.
STEPS Prosthetics founding director, Colette Shaw, commented: “By having this additional clinic in the North East, we are able to give an enhanced level of service to clients, many of whom live in the North East area.
“We are delighted to be working with Neural Pathways and their therapy team to offer a comprehensive service to our clients closer to home.”
