"Major" contract extension in the North East for property services firm
A national property services firm has secured more work to keep North-East homes warm for housing association Home Group. Merseyside-based Liberty, which provides heating, compliance and repairs work to the landlord, has won an extension to their existing contract.
It is the result of the positive relationship between the partners, with Liberty delivering repairs to homes in and around Sunderland. Home Group, which owns and manages 55,000 homes across England and Scotland, have decided to continue with Liberty’s services for the 4,700 homes in the area.
They are now also commissioning Liberty to carry out heating and compliance works to 3,000 more homes in Middlesborough and the surrounding area. The newly extended contract, which began in August for 18 months initially, is worth around £920,000 a year.
Home Group have a no-tolerance approach to damp and do everything they can to alleviate fuel poverty. Liberty will support this by providing efficient and quality repairs and maintenance that will ensure tenant’s heating systems are running as efficiently as possible, helping them to stay warm and reduce their fuel bills.
Home Group’s tenants will also have access to Liberty’s Customer Hub, an online resource offering advice and tips to residents about how to optimize their heating controls, reduce damp and condensation in their homes, and complete simple DIY projects.
Karen Sloan, managing director of heating and compliance at Liberty, said: “This new contract is a testament to the professional, high-quality job our operatives do, and undoubtedly adds to what is turning into a strong year for growth. At Liberty, we are dedicated to meeting clients’ expectations, and we have built a really good working relationship with Home Group.
“We are delighted to be able to extend our work with them while supporting their ambition to tackle fuel poverty, all the more vital as we head towards winter and further energy bill hikes.”
