Hull digital marketing forum to address cost of living crisis and drive food bank support

A digital marketing forum will focus on the rising cost of living at its next event with advice on maximising shrinking budgets, the “lure of free pizza” and a collection for food banks in Hull.

The Power Hour, which brings together influential speakers from the region’s digital community, is on course for its “biggest event yet” at Social in Humber Street, Hull, on Friday November 4.

Organised by performance marketing agency 43 Clicks North, the Power Hour has been building numbers gradually since it resumed in October 2021 with the aim of sharing ideas and creating a platform to enable the digital sector to grow professionally.

The most recent event in August attracted nearly 80 people including delegates from other digital agencies, digital marketing managers, ecommerce managers and owner-managers of businesses who do their own sales and marketing.

The next session will feature Becky Stead, Digital PR strategist at 43 Clicks North, who will speak about how to maximise the benefits of digital PR on a tight budget. Andy Lowdon, the firm’s strategy director will then focus on how businesses and their customers can share the benefits of Black Friday and its digital spin-off Cyber Monday.

Completing the line-up will be headline speaker Bethan Vincent, founder of the York-based agency Open Velocity and a specialist in providing marketing support to established technology companies and start-ups looking to scale.

Rhys Peachey, community manager at 43 Clicks North, commented: “We have expanded our audience and it’s no longer just about the digital marketing industry. We are getting business owners and people from within business who want to learn more about digital marketing opportunities. The feedback from every event has been really positive.

“We picked the cost of living theme this time because it’s so dominant but at the same time it doesn’t seem to be getting the attention you might expect in the world of marketing.”

Beth Fell, client strategist at 43 Clicks North, is organising a collection at the event for Hull Food Bank, which branches across the city.

Beth added: “I’ve partnered with multiple businesses across the Humber region to collect donations for Hull’s Food Bank for some years now and I’m pleased to welcome 43 Clicks North and the Power Hour events on board to continue to drive this support.”
