Award-winning Essex development to launch new collection of homes this month
On January 21 and 22, L&Q is launching a collection of 11 one and two-bedroom apartments at The Arbour, a brand-new neighbourhood which forms part of the award-winning development of Beaulieu.
An eight-minute drive from the charming Essex city of Chelmsford, and within commuting distance of London, L&Q’s Shared Ownership homes at The Arbour meet an acute demand for affordably priced homes who may find London a little too pricey.
An increasingly popular district for young professionals and families, The Arbour offers an opportunity for local people to take their first step onto the housing ladder in a picturesque new neighbourhood, located on the historic site of one of Henry VIII’s former palaces.
Claire Brenlund, sales and marketing director at L&Q, commented: “Our homes at Beaulieu have proven popular time and time again and The Arbour is no exception.
“Set to comprise 255 Shared Ownership homes of varying sizes to the expanding community, people are drawn to the development for its amenities, schools, expansive green open spaces, which when combined with plans for a new railway station have been a huge draw.

“We are so excited to be launching this latest collection of apartments and expect to see demand from young professionals looking for a home that offers the best of both worlds – countryside vistas within touching distance of a bustling city.”
The Arbour benefits from many amenities in close proximity. The development is home to a brand-new all-through school, The Beaulieu Park School, as well as a nursery, education centre and a community centre.
Offering convenience in a countryside location, Beaulieu Square is reachable from The Arbour on foot, meaning residents enjoy easy access to a range of shops and facilities, including a Sainsbury’s Local, takeaways, Beaulieu Dental Surgery, and the Spring Lodge Veterinary Surgery.
Plans for a new Health Centre and a further primary school are also underway, alongside 176 acres of green public space, lush newly planted woodlands, and landscaped communal gardens, which will enable residents to make the most of the outdoors.
For commuters, London Liverpool Street can be reached from Chelmsford Railway Station in 34 minutes. Residents travelling by car can enjoy easy access to the A130 and A12, plus quick links to Stansted Airport. Providing even further connectivity, plans have now been approved for the new Beaulieu train station which is expected to open in 2026.
