Advantex powers expansion at North East garden furniture supplier
North East technology and connectivity specialist Advantex has completed a five-figure contract to support expansion at a County Durham garden furniture supply company.
The move has seen Maze, one of the UK’s fastest growing manufacturers and suppliers of rattan and fabric covered garden furniture products to retailers across the UK, install a new Meraki network system from Advantex at its 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse and distribution hub in Peterlee.
Enhanced Wi-Fi capability is expected to deliver business performance efficiencies, reduce operational costs, improve real-time order fulfilment and visibility, and boost workforce productivity at the Peterlee site, which opened earlier this year as part of growth plans.
Part of a £1m package of improvements in site infrastructure, the contract also included fitting new digital cabling, access points and switching technologies needed to power ecommerce operations.
The County Durham site is one of three centres Maze owns and operates in the UK that are benefiting from investment to accommodate expansion into the consumer delivery market in 2023.
This is the latest success for Follingsby Park-based Advantex, which provides a wide range of network and connectivity consultancy and services to companies across the North East. The firm is seeing growth on the back of new product and service introductions, investment in a highly skilled workforce and a strong pipeline of orders on the books for the next 12 months.
Advantex account manager Steve Dobby said consumer growth and supply chain investment has driven Maze’s need for new connectivity: “Maze is making the investments to support growth across its operations.
“This contract showcases our expertise in turning around major investment projects quickly, working with clients to help them improve business critical functions, operational performance and achieve long-term efficiencies.”
