The North East Workforce Skills Programme launched in September 2021 and is aimed at levelling up workforce skills of over 17,500 employees in Tyne and Wear and Northumberland.

The project has nearly £15 million to fund training courses until September 2023. Time is ticking so make sure you take advantage of this fully funded training opportunity and book NOW!

The project supports employers to access the tools they need to upskill their workforce through the consortium’s wide-ranging offer. Led by the University of Sunderland the consortium of Further and Higher Education providers in the North East includes Access Training Limited, MTC Training, Newcastle College Group, SETA, Code and TDR Training. These partners have now been joined by four new partners to enhance the offer available to employers.

The five new partners are ACG, Re:geon Training, Training in Care, Tyneside Training Services and Unisus.

We have a strong track record of upskilling workforces and recruiting new talent across a variety of sectors with a passion for green skills and Retrofit. We can work with employers to create bespoke training programmes to fit their needs.

The North East Workforce Skills Programme enables Unisus to provide care training for employees starting work in the care industry and covers areas such as safeguarding, medication, moving and handling, infection control and basic life support.

Our wellbeing training provides information and skills for managers to support employees with mental health in work.

Training in Care is a Centre of Excellence training provider offering vocational skills training in both children’s and adult care, Courses include a clear progression route of accredited vocational training from introduction to managerial level. The company also writes national bespoke courses Endorsed by the Department of Health and Skills for Care.

TTS is proud to have served the logistics community in the Northeast since 1969. We train residents to become logistics professionals in HGV driving, Warehousing and Management. We offer commercial, subsidised, and fully funded training as well as working with hauliers to provide industry placements for those new to sector.
