Michelmores secures new 'Grade A' location for its Bristol office

UK law firm Michelmores has secured new Grade A office space in Bristol, taking 11,000sq ft. in the recently redeveloped 10 Victoria Street.

The space will be the first of the Firm’s offices designed from scratch to complement its agile working model, with plans to create a bespoke configuration that supports collaborative working and offers a welcoming space for clients.

The move comes as the Firm continues to see growth across its core private client, business and real estate groups and follows a wealth of strategic recruitment including six senior lateral Partner hires this financial year.

The building’s strong sustainability credentials are well aligned with the Firm’s recently launched Destination 2030 strategy. The building offers cycle storage for 76 bikes with shower and changing facilities, plus specialist cycle clothing drying lockers, four EV charging points, and has a BREEAM Very Good rating.

With the highest WiredScore in the city and a Platinum Cycling Score, the property boasts a hybrid design with a mixture of period and contemporary architecture to offer an innovative working environment.

Hartnell Taylor Cook advised Michelmores on the acquisition and CSquared acted as joint agents on the letting for the landlord, Northwood. Hartnell Taylor Cook and CSquared are now marketing the remaining 24,636 sq ft of available space to rent in the building.

Paul Beanlands, partner and head of Michelmores’ Bristol office, said: “This move marks our ongoing commitment to investing in Bristol which has played a key role in Michelmores’ growth trajectory over the last decade. Having the right space is key to our Destination 2030 strategy and future growth and talent attraction plans.

“The move also represents our commitment to sustainability and a people-first culture where employees have the space and support to produce their best work.”

Commenting on the news, Chris Grazier, partner at Hartnell Taylor Cook, said: “This is a great start to the year for the Bristol office market off the back of a record year in 2022. The flight to quality in the city centre is soaring and this landmark offers a state of the art space in a prime location.

“With both Allianz and Schroders recently entering the building, there is clear appetite for Grade A space and 10 Victoria provides a great base for Michelmores to continue growth in this region.”
