Housebuilder reports “impressive” sales across Essex, Kent & Watford developments

Volume housebuilder, Weston Homes, reports “impressive” sales figures at four of its developments: Springfield Park in Maidstone, Edinburgh Way in Harlow, Abbey Quay in Barking and Watford Cross in Watford.

Despite the economic challenges faced by many households, Weston Homes has witnessed a high level of demand for its value homes in “prime locations with excellent transport links and good outdoor space”, resulting in sustained high sales rates across many of its developments.

One primary reason for the increasing demand for affordable homes in prime locations is the recognition amongst buyers that the properties offer long-term advantages. While the current cost of living may be high, individuals understand that investing in a well-located home provides a strategic move for the future.

These properties have the potential to increase in value over time, making them an “attractive investment” for homeowners. By securing a home in a desirable area, buyers not only fulfil their immediate housing needs but also position themselves to benefit from potential price appreciation.

At Springfield Park in Maidstone, Weston Homes has sold over 85 per cent of the properties on the site, with buyers attracted by the development’s picturesque location and the range of high-quality homes on offer. The development provides 502 new apartments, breathing new life into previously derelict land on the banks of the River Medway.

Similarly, the Edinburgh Way development in Harlow has proved to be popular with buyers, with over 85 per cent of the properties sold. Edinburgh Way comprises 361 new apartments across five new residential buildings on the doorstep of rolling countryside, providing one, two- and three-bedroom homes, many of which have private balconies or terraces.

At Abbey Quay, a new riverside urban village in Barking, Weston Homes have achieved great success, with 81 per cent of the properties sold. This is a new £350m (GDV) development which forms part of the 440-acre Barking Riverside masterplan and presents the perfect opportunity for buyers to secure a new home within London’s “hottest new area”.

Meanwhile, at Watford Cross in Watford, Weston Homes has sold over 95 per cent of the properties available. Situated on St Albans Road, Watford Cross comprises 115 private one, two- and three-bedroom apartments, with the majority providing private balconies and terraces.

Suzanne Aplin, group sales and marketing director at Weston Homes, commented: “We are delighted to see such strong demand for our homes at these four developments despite the challenges posed by the current economic climate.

“We believe that our focus on affordability and exceptional living experiences in prime locations with great transport links has played a crucial role in achieving these sales successes.”
