We’ve put together some simple publishing guidelines for the Bdaily Premium community to help you craft a top-quality article. Keep reading to find out how to improve the chance of your article being approved and increase viewership from our audience.

Provide valuable insight

Writing a press release can be tricky. You want to get the media’s attention and share something useful with your audience. But you don’t want to sound like you’re just trying to sell them something. That would make your press release look like an ad, not a news story. The key point to remember that your press release is not really about you, it’s about your client or customer.

Focus on the angle of your story and how it provides something interesting and valuable to the audience. How does the story impact the business community, show a problem being solved or inspire people with valuable insight? Press releases are content marketing, and just like good content marketing, press releases should describe value. If you’re looking for a starting point, our readers love hearing about;

Keep it timely and relevant

Talking about upcoming events in your press release can make your press release sound more like an invitation than a news story. Readers are looking for timely and relevant news, not future plans.

If you want to promote your upcoming event to an audience of business professionals take a look at our event listing service. With this service, your event listing will be published on our website, feature in our daily bulletins up until the day before your event and be shared across social media. Whether you’re hosting a webinar, a workshop, a conference or a networking breakfast, our event listing service can help you spread the word and attract more attendees.

Make it picture perfect

You know what they say: a picture is worth a thousand words. And that’s especially true for your article when you publish as a Bdaily Premium member.

You might have a great story but if your header image is blurry, pixelated or stretched, it will deter from the story and give a bad impression of your business. And you don’t want that, do you?

You want your brand to look professional and trustworthy. Make sure you use a high-quality image that fits your story and your audience.

We recommend using a landscape image with approximate dimensions of 1860px (W) x 870px (H).

Your logo is a great way to identify your business, but it might not be the best choice for your header image. You don’t want to look too salesy or promotional and miss a great opportunity to attract more readers. Your header image is like a billboard for your article, so make it eye-catching and informative. Use a memorable image that captures the essence of your story and adds some extra details that your text doesn’t cover.

No links, please

Our Bdaily Premium membership is designed for companies and PR representatives to share the latest and greatest business news from their organisations and clients.

If you want more people to visit your site and find you on Google you might want to add some advertorial links to your article. For just £100+VAT per article, you can include up to five different links that point to your relevant webpage.

And if you really want to take your backlinking to the next level, you can sign up for our PR Subscription. This way, you can add a link to your webpage in every article you submit to Bdaily.

NO NEED TO SHOUT

We want your headline to look great on our website. When you write in block capitals it can come across as aggressive, spammy and difficult to read. SEE HOW WRITING IN BLOCK CAPITAL CAN MAKE IT SEEM LIKE YOU ARE SHOUTING? So we suggest using sentence capitalisation instead of all caps like below.

  • Block capitals: THIS HEADLINE IS IN BLOCK CAPITALS
  • Title case: Share This Headline Is In Title Case
  • Sentence case: This headline is in sentence case

The perfect view

Just like any website, the Bdaily publisher has its quirks. This can cause copy and paste press releases to look less than ideal. Luckily, our publisher has a useful side-by-side viewer so you can see exactly how your article will look on the site when it’s published.

Click the toggle side-by-side viewer at the top of the editing box or F9 when in the publisher to view in this mode and check the formatting of your article is just right.

The icon in the publishing toolbar that looks like two screens next to one another is the side by side viewer. This lets you see the content you’re writing and formating next to a preview of what it will look like when its love on the site.

By viewing your content side by side you can easily edit the formatting of your article to make it easier to read and digest. The left panel is the editor and the right gives you the website view.

The side by side view also lets you see how in line images will look in your content.
