Inside trader - a stockbroker’s new book reveals 13 secrets of the Square Mile
From insider trading and money laundering to market manipulation and how “independent” some IFAs really are, a new book from city stockbroker Ranjeet Singh promises to lift the lid on the City of London’s financial markets.
Singh, who has over 25 years of experience in the sector says “13 Insider Trading Secrets That Will Blow Your Mind” has been written as part of an ‘obligation to share information that we know can help others.’
However, whilst the book is designed to expose some of the murkier aspects of the markets, Singh stresses that he is not on a mission to change the system, firms or name names; ’they would be fruitless exercises“ Singh explains.
‘I am simply sharing what I have seen. I want investors of every level of sophistication to be able to protect themselves and their loved ones and this book can do that.’
Singh’s career in managing and growing stock portfolios in the UK and global equities markets followed an MSc in Business Economics from Brunel University, before he began his working career at Lloyds Bank and then eventually moving to Deutsche Bank.
In 2008, at the height of the financial crash, he founded the FCA-regulated stock broking firm London Stone Securities, which he still leads today, helping his clients to invest safely and securely.
Over 13 chapters (lucky for some) Singh will take the reader on a tour of the labyrinthine world of the financial markets covering everything from Bonds to Boiler Room scams, governmental goofs and Get Rich Quick schemes and even, thankfully, financial redress.
Singh concludes; ‘I have worked in the City of London’s financial markets for more than 25 years and have been fortunate and indeed unfortunate enough to witness many things; some good, some bad, some VERY ugly.
’This book will tell investors about the ugly side.
’Humans have a wonderful capacity to love and help others but when money is involved, things can change. We all know that one thing London has more than perhaps any other place on the planet is that crucial motivator..money.
‘I have reached a stage in my career where frankly, I’ve seen enough and I feel compelled to lift the lid. Will this be a popular move amongst my peers in the City? No. I’ve made more than my own fair share of mistakes too. This book will hopefully ensure that anyone else who reads it doesn’t make similar ones that might impact them or their families.’
