ISO support opens the door to future growth for north east manufacturing business

Sunderland based ISO consultancy provider, Compliant, have supported door hardware supplier AT Precision as they undertook their recent ISO 9001 surveillance audit.

Compliant, who were launched in 2016 by director, Mark Henderson, has experienced phenomenal growth in the last two years with many businesses looking for support to gain ISO standards with a view to improving their credibility and the opportunity to tender for large contracts.

They have worked with Seaham based business, AT Precision, for two years since supporting the organisation on their initial ISO 9001 quality certification. Providing ongoing flexible and professional ISO support, many clients maintain Compliant’s services with a view to managing their standard and ensuring continued certification.

AT Precision, who are based in a state-of-the-art facility, manufacture a range of bi-folding door rollers, top guides, pull handles and hinges. They initially gained the quality standard to grow the business and demonstrate their commitment to quality to their wide range of clients.

Katherine Barboni, account manager at AT Precision, was delighted with their successful audit and was grateful of the support they received from Compliant, commenting, ‘We knew that in order to grow the business and achieve that worldwide quality recognition, the ISO 9001 quality standard was something we wanted to achieve. We’re incredibly proud of our products and manufacturing processes but were aware that many of our customers required that external verification which only an ISO standard can bring.’

Now that we’re in the position of maintaining the standard, the run up to a surveillance audit can be quite stressful, however the Compliant team were absolutely fantastic, the team were so helpful and made everything very easy. Every time I needed something, they were there for me, even if it was just to listen and provide reassurance.’

Compliant’s internal audit manager, Danielle Barry, who supported AT Precision throughout the ISO process, commented, ‘We know that yearly surveillance audits can be a stressful time for businesses which is why we help not only to ensure that documentation is in place but to also reassure clients and listen to their concerns. Working closely with the external certification body also means that we can liaise with them and our clients to work towards a successful outcome. We’re delighted with the outcome of this latest audit and look forward to continuing our relationship with AT Precision.’
