England cricket kit sales surge amidst dramatic Ashes

England cricket kit sales have seen a dramatic rise following the men’s successful third Ashes test against Australia, kit maker Castore reports.

After falling behind two tests to nil following dramatic opening tests at Edgbaston and Lord’s, England got themselves off the mark in the third test with victory in Headingley, seeing off Australia by three wickets. What’s more, a dramatic start to test four means England are currently leading Australia by 67 runs with 6 wickets remaining, thanks to an inspired performance by Zak Crawley.

Kit sales have also thrived thanks to women’s Ashes series, where despite England clinching both the white ball series’, Australia will return home having retained the Ashes.

Following England’s first success of the series, England kit makers Castore have revealed sales have surged by 14 per cent over the weekend in comparison to the week previous, demonstrating how victory has inspired the fans to dress the part.

What’s more, kit sales have increased by a fifth in comparison to this time last year, as fans look to show their support for the sides amidst the ongoing battle with old foes Australia. And it’s not just the kits that are flying off the shelves, as Castore’s England bucket hats have sold out in record time since the start of the Ashes in June.

Tom Beahon, Castore co-founder, said: “It’s fantastic to see supporters getting behind the team and purchasing the supporters kit ahead of the fourth test. England have had a tricky start to the Ashes, but it’s clear from our sales data that victory in the third test has lifted fans spirits somewhat.

“It’s also been incredible to see the response to our England bucket hats. They’ve proved unbelievably popular with fans and we’ve loved seeing supporters wearing them to games up and down the country over the first three tests.”
